Global Recognition: Iman Academy Wins the Your World Competition (2019)

In 2019, Iman Academy earned global recognition by winning the prestigious Your World Video Competition, hosted by the British Council for its network of international partner schools.

A talented team of Imanians; Ahmed Azim, Hafsa Amry, Sarah Anas, Amrullah Farook, and Abdulali Farook, represented the school with excellence. Their award-winning entry was a powerful, student-led social action video on Aquaponics for Sustainability, combining innovation, environmental awareness, and creative storytelling. The project reflected not only their scientific curiosity but also their deep concern for global issues, aligning with both academic excellence and Islamic stewardship of the Earth.

The team’s video stood out among global entries for its originality, technical quality, and message-driven purpose. As winners, the students were awarded Apple laptops and a scholarship to pursue filmmaking with the UK-based Young Film Academy, providing them an extraordinary opportunity to build on their creative talents.

The Your World Competition is designed to ignite curiosity and motivation in young learners by encouraging them to explore real-world challenges through a three-minute social action film. Iman Academy's win is a proud reflection of our students’ ability to engage meaningfully with the world around them,  driven by purpose, powered by values.

We celebrate this remarkable achievement as a milestone of creativity, collaboration, and global impact. In 2019, Iman Academy earned global recognition by winning the prestigious Your World Video Competition, hosted by the British Council for its network of international partner schools.

Financial Times Internship
FT Advocate | November 2023 – February 2024

Participated in a prestigious global internship programme with the Financial Times, engaging with international students to promote awareness of current affairs. Selected as FT Advocates, we co-founded a Financial Times Club at our school to foster informed discussions and active readership. Within the first month, our team was recognised for effectively promoting the initiative across the student body. A standout achievement was organising an international webinar featuring teachers as participants and interviews with two prominent FT representatives. This experience honed our communication, leadership, and event management skills while deepening our understanding of global collaboration and media literacy.
