Early Years at Iman Academy: A Foundation Rooted in Faith and Wonder
At Iman Academy, we recognize that the early years, from age 2 to 5, are a sacred window of learning, exploration, and identity formation. These foundational years set the tone for a child’s love of learning, their connection to the world, and their understanding of their Creator.

Our Early Years program is designed around Developmentally Appropriate Practices (DAP), guided by the standards and teacher training best practices recommended by NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children). This ensures that each child is met at their developmental stage with care, intention, and purposeful engagement.

Play is an important vehicle for developing self-regulation as well as for promoting language, cognition, and social competence.

What makes our program unique is the integration of Islamic values and teachings into every corner of the learning experience. From the very first “Bismillah” of the morning to story time infused with Allah’s attributes, children are nurtured in an environment of love, dhikr, and guidance.

Every ‘Bismillah’ they whisper, every smile they share, is a seed of Iman blooming in their little hearts.
- Inspired by the spirit of tarbiyah in early childhood

A hallmark of our Early Years curriculum is the Iman Phonics Integrated Reading Series, a character-building literacy program that combines phonetic awareness with stories that reflect Islamic morals and meaningful lessons. This early literacy journey helps young learners not only decode words but also connect deeply with messages of kindness, trust, and sincerity.

With every sound they learn, a value takes root, Iman Phonics teaches not just how to read, but how to live with kindness, truth, and faith.

Children thrive in our classrooms through play-based learning strategies and activity-packed learning stations that stimulate creativity, collaboration, and hands-on exploration. Whether it’s sensory play, dramatic role-play, or guided group activities, every station is a purposeful learning opportunity designed to promote social-emotional growth, fine and gross motor development, and a sense of belonging.

Every corner is a world of wonder, learning stations spark little minds to explore, discover, and grow through play, faith, and imagination.
Through play-based learning, outdoor discovery, Qur’an memorization, and structured routines, our Early Years program cultivates confident, compassionate, and curious learners who begin their educational path grounded in adab, iman, and joy.
