Parents as Partners

At Iman Academy, we believe that raising a child is a shared amanah (trust) between the school and the family. In Islam, both parents and educators play vital roles in nurturing a child’s academic, emotional, and spiritual development. Our Parents as Partners approach reflects this value through meaningful initiatives like Coffee Mornings, Lion and Cub, Mom for Me, and Grand Moments with Grandma, each designed to strengthen the ties between home and school. Together, we build hearts rooted in adab, minds lit by ‘ilm, and young souls guided by faith.

Grand Moments with Grandma

A beautiful tribute to intergenerational wisdom and love, Grand Moments with Grandma celebrates the special bond between our learners and their grandmothers. This gentle, joy-filled event features thoughtful activities like making wristbands, massaging Grandma’s feet, puzzle time, and of course, a sweet photo session to capture the memories.
Rooted in gratitude and affection, the event reminds us all of the quiet strength, stories, and warmth our grandmothers bring into our lives, turning simple moments into cherished legacies.

Alphabet Adventure with Abi

Alphabet Adventure with Abu was a delightful initiative designed to bring fathers into the classroom and immerse them in the literacy journey of their children. This welcome activity offered a blend of word-building games and bonding experiences, turning language learning into a shared adventure.
Dads joined their little ones for creative stations like Scrabble scroll play, needle-crafted letterwork, natural clay molding, and a lively scavenger hunt that led to sentence formation and paragraph writing,  all designed to enrich young writers and inspire a love for words.
The presence of fathers, as role models and breadwinners, brought not only joy but also a noticeable boost in student confidence and enthusiasm. It was a powerful reminder that when fathers step into their children’s learning world, the impact is lasting and deep.

Lion and Cub -  A Tribute to Independence

Held in celebration of Sri Lankan Independence Day, Lion and Cub is a special event that brings together fathers and daughters for a day of bonding, laughter, and learning. While daughters beam with pride beside their dads, the event offers a space for fathers to connect with each other, engage in interactive activities, and share memorable moments with their little ones.
Through fun quizzes, crafts, and team games, they also explore key facts and milestones of Sri Lanka’s independence, fostering both national pride and stronger family ties. It’s a morning filled with flags, smiles, and heartwarming connections, a celebration of heritage, fatherhood, and unity.
